Well, day number one is coming to an end, and it’s been a whirlwind of a day but oh so fun!

We were up and out of the house before 7:00 am!

After a quick stop at Wawa or as Brody likes to call it “the bakery” (because he always gets a donut when we go – this time he picked out a star shaped donut and sand “twinkle twinkle little star” the to cashier lol) we were on our way! Brody was so excited and loved wearing his sunglasses almost the entire ride down!

We arrived at Sea Isle, NJ at 9:30, only 2.5 hours after we left, which was great timing!

We couldn’t check in until 1 pm, so Jeremy and Brody snuck into the resort (bad I know) and went swimming in the lake while I went to the grocery store to stock up on goodies and essentials for the week!

When I came back, we ate a quick lunch and all of us snuck into the pool (bad again I KNOW!), which was much needed since it was so stinkin hot!!

Once we were able to check in, we worked on putting away all of our “stuff” and put Brody down for a nap. Last year, he was a mess, and would not go down easily. This year, he passed out and slept for almost 2 hours!

Mommy and daddy played some cards during his nap!! We haven’t done that in a LONG LONG time…

Once he was up, it was back to the lake (legally this time!) where we spent the remainder of the afternoon exploring the man-made, fresh water lake! It was beautiful….Brody absolutely loved the freedom of the lake – being able to stand, jump, splash, swim around etc..at his own leisure was truly enjoyable to him. He loved digging big holes in the sand with daddy and burying his feet too. And of course, he ended with some climbing and hanging on the jungle gym!

He’s now winding down watching some Thomas the Train Engine and is about to go to sleep. I’m pretty sure he’s going to pass out again! He’s beat as am I! Doing the whole vacation thing at 6.5 months pregnant is exhausting, but so much fun…

PS: Because we are in the middle of the woods right now we do NOT get great internet access, so I’m not able to upload any pictures here. I will save those for when we return and do a day in pictures blog post!
